Ratcliffe Power Station Court Case : Nottingham Magistrates [day 1]

Before the trial started, there was a protest / gathering of 20 - 30 people outside the court, to offer their support. Holding banners with the slogan "The Earth is getting too hot. Together we can make it stop", people were ushered away from the immediate court area by the security and a couple of policemen who were there on station, to make sure no one got into any trouble.

Polluting power giant EON have sponsored an ice rink in the market square....very pretty you might think. But in all the statistics on the advertising there is no mention of how much electricity the rink takes to run, nor the carbon cost of this, nor of who is paying for it!

Sneintons' Saturday 'Bike About' (a not critical mass)

Frustrated at the lack of cycling provision in Sneinton (and everywhere else), people gathered at Belvoir Hill, near Greens Windmill, on Saturday afternoon. The group wasn't very large but that didn't stop the determined cyclists from having a good time! It was the first such event and everyone agreed it should continue at 4pm on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. So, on yer bikes, see you on 17th November, 4pm, at Belvoir Hill, near Greens Windmill to join us for a lovely bikeride with music..
