No place at the Inn, asylum in Egypt

In contrary to the often hypocritical ''Christmas'' approach, The Birth of the Child is no sentimental story about ''A Little Child in a Manger'', but the reality of the exclusion of the poor, persecution by the State and seeking illegal asylum in a foreign country
That's the reason, this Story is based on respect towards any human being, regardless descent or committed crime Read more >>

O, Muslim town of Bethlehem...

It's the season of good will and to celebrate brotherly love and the like, the Daily Mail was been reporting from the holly land on what they describe as a "sense of a creeping Islamic fundamentalism is all around in Bethlehem".

The paper reports, "The town’s Christian population has dwindled from more than 85 per cent in 1948 to 12 per cent of its 60,000 inhabitants in 2006. There are reports of religious persecution, in the form of murders, beatings and land grabs."

Apparently the breakdown in security has been putting off the jet set tourists and leading to economic hardship for those ever down trodden Christians - who incidently manage to own most of the town’s hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.

This god awful situation has become "so desperate" that the Archbishop of Canterbury and the head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, are going over with a bunch of cristian protesters to express their solidarity with the "beleaguered Christian populace" Read more >>

Remember the Tsunami?

The epicenter was very near Aceh, north Sumatra, Indonesia. Now you have a vague idea where Aceh is I will give you a little background and a basic assessment of the political situation. The reason is mainly that I am now working in Aceh. Does not receive the same international gaze as Afghanistan but that can change and perhaps I can bring it on to a few peoples radar. Read more >>

Hungerstrike in Campsfield

Detainees held at Campsfield House, Oxfordshire, are understood to have been on hunger strike for 4 days now. 66 detainees, mainly Turkish and Kurdish, were logged as having skipped meals on Monday and are consuming only sugared water and coffee. They are protesting against the lack of information on how long their cases would take to be processed.
