Translators or Spies?

MI5 recruitment ad For a while now, the British Security Service, commonly known as MI5, has been trying to recruit 'translators', particularly Arabic speakers, through translation agencies. I found the advert below in my mailbox this morning, coming from Top Language Jobs, with whom I am registered as a freelance translator. The ad explains that the job will involve not only "listening to and translating a variety of spoken communications", but also "adding your own insight on the political and cultural context".

Police unlawfully arrest teen then refuse to take witness statements

During a regular demo outside Barclays Birmingham (due to their support for Huntingdon Life Sciences) a group of teenagers came to find out what the demo was about. The police were called, they arrested one teenager for alleged criminal damage (kicking the door of Barclays) which he didn't do, then refused to take details of bystanders who were witnesses to the non-crime.

SHAC supporter arrested at Barclays demo

Demo starts like any other Passers by join in with protest despite police shenanigans while trying to make up the 'law' as they go along...

We held another demonstration today against Barclays in Birmingham City Centre for their blood-money investments into the filthy Huntingdon Life Sciences.

A riot van was also on the scene, and one of the supporting teens was unlawfully arrested - in an attempt to scare the newly aware bunch away.

Rage against police brutality, tomorrow in Redditch

An innocent man, not even a protester, was brutally murdered by a vicious thug in uniform. Another state bully beat up a female protester. Hundreds more people who dared to peacefully protest met the same violence. Many were injured. It`s a wonder more were not killed. And this was just ONE day!

No matter what her army of paid thugs get up to, the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith defends them! Ultimately, she`s to blame for Ian Tomlinson`s death.
