Protest in Solihull against the imposition of ID cards on Migrants

multiplying the borders Birmingham Noborders will be holding a demonstration on November 25th from 12:30pm in Solihull against the imposition of ID cards on Non-Eu students and marriage visa holders.

The protest will be happening at the UK Border Agency centre where student and marriage visa applicants will have to go to have their photograph and fingerprints taken. Against ID Cards!

Biometric ID cards will come into force for non-EU students and spouses from 25th November and will be issued from offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Croydon, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Sheffield.

Climate Change Activists Occupy EONs Coventry Headquarters

one activists bail conditions Monday November 10th saw a noisy, 45 minutes long, office occupation and an attempted banner drop at EONs headquarters in Coventry in protest against plans to build Kingsnorth coal fired power station. Four activists were arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass.

UK Charity 'stops human traffic' on London's Oxford Street

Stop Child Prostitution A UK Charity, Restless Beings, this weekend (15th November) confused, amused and enlightened Christmas shoppers in London’s Oxford Street. Modelling agency Model Advice, contacted upcoming models to take part in an initiative to raise awareness of issues such as displacement, child prostitution and substance misuse for children in street situations in Dhaka. A procession of models, walked hand in hand along Tottenham Court Road all the way to Marble Arch and back stopping along the way to freeze in positions to capture the imagination and curiosity of the Christmas shoppers.

The Saville Inquiry is the public Inquiry into the events of Bloody Sunday in Derry in the north of Ireland. On Sunday 30th Jan 1972 13 civil rights demonstrators were shot dead by British paratroopers, another died later as a result his injuries. Four years after the end of the Inquiry there is still no report.Please act - see below

Students Dying to Ditch Dirty Development

Students from the West Midlands participated in a die-in against the Royal Bank of Scotland at the Graduate Recruitment Fair at the NEC in Birmingham. Protesters then had to deal with the usual security and police disproporionate and ad-hoc overreaction to the action, which for some was their first protest.
