Liberals, Bush Unite in Ethnic Cleansing of Iraq

31-08-2007 20:27 | Analysis | Iraq | Terror War | World

From the New York Times:

"The number of Iraqis fleeing their homes has soared since the American troop increase began in February, according to data from two humanitarian groups, accelerating the partition of the country into sectarian enclaves...The effect of this vast migration is to drain religiously mixed areas in the center of Iraq, sending Shiite refugees toward the overwhelmingly Shiite areas to the south and Sunnis toward majority Sunni regions to the west and north."

Imperialism, 'Anti-Imperialism', and the Continuing Relevance of Rosa Luxemburg

22-08-2007 23:14 | Analysis | Globalisation | Other Press | World

The liquidity crisis currently wiping billions off global stock markets is just the tip of a very big iceberg. Beneath the credit crunch and incipient insolvency crisis lie the economic and political crisis of the USA’s global reign, claims Loren Goldner. But will this mean global depression, wars and intensified authoritarianism, or a renewed opportunity for communism? Goldner returns to the theories of Marx and Luxemburg to examine today's financial and military imperialism, and its left wing ‘anti-imperialist’ mirror

War Against Iran: Hawks Winning the Argument?

22-08-2007 15:44 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Iraq | World

"It could just stop exporting oil itself. Pulling only Iran’s three and a half million barrels per day off the market, in its present state, would send oil prices shooting up into the stratosphere. Or it could get tough and close down all oil-tanker traffic that comes within range of those missiles — which would mean little or no oil from Iraq, Saudi Arabia or the smaller Gulf states either. That would mean global oil rationing, industrial shutdowns, and the end of the present economic era."

Maybe we should share this around? I wonder if these outcomes are what Cheney and his Neocon pals really want? Great for the price of "their" oil. Good cover for crimes of treason.

“JFK, 9/11 and War”

20-08-2007 15:51 | Analysis | History | Terror War | World

In American history there are two types of event: ordinary events which the information systems of the country can understand and establish. There are also deep events, or meta-events, which the mainstream information systems of the country cannot digest. I mean by a “deep event” an event in which it is clear from the outset that there are aspects which will not be dealt with in the mainstream media, and will be studied only by those so-called “conspiracy theorists” who specialize in deep history.

FBI, CIA Scriveners Edit Wikipedia Entries

18-08-2007 11:19 | Analysis | Culture | Repression | World

It would appear Wikipedia is not simply “populated by volunteer vandals with poison-pen intellects,” as John Seigenthaler Sr., former assistant to Attorney General Robert Kennedy, would have it, but is indeed an intelligence front, yet another puzzle piece of a sprawling, comprehensive, long-term, and quite effective propaganda effort.

the TU-160 is one of the latest russian bombers
What is going on at the climate camp is all fine and dandy but yer eyes are off the ball because the war on freedom is hotting up all the time and at a teeny bit of a faster rate than the climate. Putin is acting to protect the Russian people whilst our leaders are preparing to sacrifice us along with most of the Middle East. Possibly destroying the remaining nations of Islamic culture.

The strategy of tension in Europe and America

16-08-2007 13:38 | Analysis | History | Terror War | World

In this excerpt from his powerful new book, The Road to 9/11: Wealth, Empire, and the Future of America (Berkeley and Los Angeles: University of California Press), UC Berkeley professor emeritus Peter Dale Scott asks whether there is a connection between America’s historical use of terror as a political weapon and the recent moves by the Bush administration to suspend the Constitution and create a “shadow government” in the wake of the next terrorist attack.
