Holocaust in Iraq
I think a lot of the responsibility lies with the Australian communities themselves and they need to rise to that responsibility here and take action.

Are they trying to kill the man?
There is still uncertainty concerning the future of the ABC executive that took a John Howard Government and Opposition led media packed frenzied attack on Sheikh Al Hilaly for over a week and are responsible for bullying the Sheikh until he had chest pains and was rushed to hospital yesterday. Now this morning they've attacked him again. Are they trying to kill the man?

Meat Sheik, Anglican paedophilia, and non-regulation Jewish foreskin

30-10-2006 03:33 | Analysis | Culture | Social Struggles | World

This past week in Australia has been ‘fundamentally’ outstanding; dimwitted fundamentalist religionists vied with each other for top billing in the local media. Never has the nation seen such retarded behaviour from so many diverse religious groups. The prize for fundamentalist imbecile of the week however goes to the Muslim cleric Sheik al-Hilali for his retrogressive reference to women as “uncovered meat”. He unashamedly placed the responsibility for rape and other sexually violent acts onto women; men were exonerated on the basis that “uncovered meat” is sexually provocative! The local media now refers to the cleric as the “Meat Sheik” and continues to sensationalise aspects of the story.

Racial Scapgoating
What concerns us most of all is that decent people, and there are very, very many of them, would also be very upset about racial scapgoating for the war criminals war on terror that killed over 665,000 innocent musilm men, women and children in Iraq and their having a tough enough time as it is.

Deepening crisis of US occupation regime in Iraq

27-10-2006 11:27 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | World

President Bush’s press conference Tuesday was dominated by the worsening position of the US occupation regime in Iraq and its impact on US politics only two weeks before the midterm congressional elections. Bush faced sharper questioning than usual from the normally docile press corps, as well as public criticism from within his own party.

Latest campaign to demonise Islam and intimidate the Muslim Community

27-10-2006 09:43 | Analysis | Repression | Social Struggles | London | World

Demonising Islam
“The public furore ignited in response to the reported comments made by Sheik Taj Al-Din Al-Hilali has little to do with the question of crime or culpability. What is clear is that a consistently negative view of Islam and Muslims is being generated in this country with the aim of demonising Islam and silencing the Muslim community.”

New York Times calls for more troops in Iraq

26-10-2006 09:04 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | World

On October 24, the New York Times published an extended editorial (“Trying to Contain the Iraq Disaster”) laying out its proposals for salvaging the US occupation of Iraq. The commentary expressed at once the perplexity and gloom within the US ruling elite over its prospects in Iraq, and its determination to intensify the violence and terror against the Iraqi resistance.

Energy depletion & the US descent into fascism

25-10-2006 12:21 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Sheffield | World

In October of 2001, a little over a month after 9/11, I wrote an article titled The Background is Oil. The hypothesis laid out in this article was that the 2000 US presidential election resulted in a coup of neocons and oil interests who had taken control of the US in order to prepare for the coming peak and decline of world oil production. Furthermore, this coup engineered the 9/11 terrorist attacks to further their own interests.

22-10-2006 18:33 | Analysis | World

ITN reporter Terry Lloyd was killed with an American bullet during the invasion of Iraq - the one where the 'liberators' were expected to be greeted with flowers (not their own friendly fire). A brave colleague went out there to confirm the truth. Here is the story.

Racism, another word that helps divide and silence

22-10-2006 15:33 | Analysis | World

The British people have suddenly awoken to the knowledge that their all inspiring multi-cultural system is in fact crumbling under the pressure of sectional ethnic interests that is causing greater division rather than uniting people under one flag of life. Ireland is about to experience the same problems that have being festering in England for far too long, but people in Ireland think they have a better hang on the problem and will not go down the same roads of racism silencing tones that vested groups use to keep us all from airing our concerns. The lions have awoken but have they awoken too late to solve their problems?

Australian police raid office of Solomon Islands PM

Ultimatum to Solomon Islands
The problem for the Sogavare government, as the latest developments demonstrate, is that there is no room for compromise as far as Canberra is concerned. The Howard government’s ultimatum to Solomon Islands and its similarly impoverished Pacific neighbours is straightforward—obey all our dictates or face continuing destabilisation and “regime change”.

China Asserts Superiority

21-10-2006 18:53 | Analysis | Culture | World

China asserts dominance in the region but if you blinked you missed it; the difference between loud and clear and subtle and clear is the difference between, “bombing into the stone-age” and gently applying Asian lateral diplomacy. DPRK (Kim Jong il) rebuffs six-party talks but promises China during independent talks, that nuclear testing will cease. Miss war whore/status quo/dead children, Condoleezza Rice, and the rest of the world are left in no doubt which nation exercises the greater degree of influence in the region; a clear message has been sent – the world has taken note.

NATO continues slaughter of civilians in Afghanistan

The extent of civilian deaths is usually concealed
Such is the strength of the opposition that a senior British officer who has just returned from Afghanistan, Brigadier Ed Butler, warned this week that the insurgency could last another “20 years”. Butler declared: “I think some may have underestimated the tenacity and ferocity of the Taliban.”
