Kyoto Protocol Comes Into Effect

On 16 February 2005, the Kyoto Protocol comes into effect, legally binding most industrialised countries to greenhouse gas emission reductions by 2012. The treaty was signed by over 180 countries in 1997 and has since been watered down by special provisions for countries like Canada and Russia as well as limited in its effect by US non-ratification.

Linslade anti-bypass camp Undermanned and facing closure.

More people are urgently needed to man the camp that has been set up on the Linslade Bypass Route. To date we have been able to sustain a rota of a minimum of two people per night. A decision will be made on Sunday as to whether the camp can continue, if the rota for next week remains unfilled it is likely it will close.
