Latest from Cambridge occupation & solidarity

Banner outside the occupied building. Students continue their occupation in Cambridge in opposition to fees and cuts. A small gathering outside the building noisily supported them by distributing leaflets and giving speeches through megaphones. A graduation is now taking place in the same grounds as the occupation, and new graduates are welcome for tea and coffee with their guests.

Occupation Pictures...

No checkpoints, just very nice people! What is currently taking place in Cambridge University's Old Schools building is something special - a very 21st century form of activism, replete with live feeds from Twitter and Indymedia, projected ten feet high onto the walls, but set against the grandiose backdrop of a magnificent 19th century building.

Inside the Cambridge University occupation

Solidarity from other occupations. Way more than 100 students and others are still occupying the Cambridge University Senior Combination room -- at the heart of the Cambridge University administrative headquarters. There are groups of people around town spreading leaflets and advertising the demands, as well as a significant number of people at the occupation playing music, watching moving and writing reports on-line.

Tomorrow (Saturday 27 Nov) a solidarity demonstration is scheduled at 12 noon in solidarity with the occupation and against all cuts and fees -- meet at Great St Mary's.

Are the United States and NATO losing the War in Afghanistan?>

In this study I will examine whether NATO and the United States have failed in their War in Afghanistan against Islamic terrorism between 2001-09. How to create your very own terrorist state

Eid Al-Adha - By Hamid Tim Coles takes us through 11 steps necessary to create a “terrorist state”. Using Yemen as a case study, he argues that these steps precisely match US and British policies in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran as well as Yemen to grow “very poisonous seeds”, some which have ripened while others are ripening. So, you want to create your own terrorist state, do you? Follow these simple instructions and you will be able to grow “very poisonous seeds. These seeds are growing now. Some have ripened and others are ripening,” as Eqbal Ahmad explained. In 2002, the Bush administration’s National Security Strategy (NSS) made it clear that America, with Britain’s help, intends to increase terrorism by chasing terrorists around the world instead of capturing them, or, better still, addressing their grievances – this is the real world, after all, which is dominated by financial interests, so there’s no time for rational solutions here.
