Cambridge Forum - Tues Nov 15th - discussion on climate change

Following the success of the discussion meeting on conservation last month
- which everyone seemed to find very stimulating and useful - we are having
another discussion meeting this month, about climate change.

Everyone is welcome to take part - or you can along just to listen if you
prefer.
(People with specialist knowledge about climate change are particularly
encouraged to be there. It was especially valuable at the last meeting to
have so many people with first-hand knowledge of conservation work around
the world.)

Thoreau's Civil Disobedience

I recently had the good fortune to read Henry David Thoreau's essay "Civil Disobedience". I did not realise it when I first started reading but this essay has a most remarkable history. Tolstoy, Gandhi and Martin Luther King have all read and been influenced by it. Emma Goldman, the American anarchist, was arrested for reading Thoreau's essay from a public platform in 1917.
