ID Cards MP pays Cambridge a Visit.

There seemed to be more NO2ID activists today than supporters of ID Cards! Today Meg Hillier, the minister in charge of the ID cards programme, came to Cambridge for discussions on the scheme with local business and civic leaders.

Her visit received a 'welcoming committee' of NO2ID activists, who staked out two of the main entrances to Jesus College.

Climate Change Activists Blockade Major Gas Terminal

Earth First! UK activists today blockaded the UK's largest off shore gas terminal at Bacton in Norfolk. 40% of the UK's domestic gas comes ashore here, is processed and distributed by pipeline. Activists blockaded the main road outside the site at 6.30 am this morning, preventing construction workers and shift owrkers from arriving.

A Timely Reminder... Yesterday evening from 6:00pm onwards, a small but significant group of local activists turned up at Cambridge Railway Station to remind the public that it was exactly five years to the day that Shock and Awe heralded the start of one of

"Women and War" Art Exhibition, Cambridge, 8th-20th March

Opening night is on the 8th at 6pm-8pm. St. Paul's Centre, Hills Rd, Cambridge. Prior to the art exhibition there will be an Iraqi women's group called "Act Together" who are holding an auction of promises from 3pm-5pm.

We will be making a banner at this exhibition where everyone can add their bit. If you have any art materials, poems, quotations, fabric, glue etc. that could be useful for this (and other art work which we will be doing), please contact Charlotte Synge

‘Iraq Oil robbers’ to be challenged by local campaigners - All Welcome!

LOCAL campaigners stage demonstration against UK oil companies profiting from the Iraq war as part of a Global Day of Action to say ‘Hands Off Iraqi Oil’.
