Live indymedia coverage of 'terror rap' debate this thursday

STREAMED LIVE THIS THURSDAY

This thursday, 17th August, Aki Nawaz lead singer of the radical rap band Fun-da-mental, will be at the rampART social centre in East London to debate Islamophobia, racisim and the health of freespeech and democracy in the UK. Joining him on the platform will be renowned human rights lawyer Louise Christian, Natacha Atlas, Ken Fero of Injustice Films, Shahrar Ali of the Green Party and John Pandit of Asian Dub Foundation.

There is no further news on the sale of the building or any way to forcast the eventual eviction of the rampART but there are plenty of things going on in the building and plenty of opportunity to get involved... Titnore volunteers urgently needed to resist imminient eviction.

On Monday, 24th July Tinore Woods Action Camp in Durrington West Sussex was served with a summons to appear at crown court in london. We are expecting an attempted eviction at any time from Thursday 27th July and urgently require support from local residents, activists and anyone who wishes to help protect this ancient woodland from development/destruction. AF ASBO in London

Well they've done it again. Some dick with a can of spray paint and nothing better to write or prove has sprayed the initials A F (circle A anarchy style no less) outside the rampART. This wouldn't perhaps be so annoying if A F meant anything in terms of the rampart by virtue of indicating that a group known by those initials actually have anything to do with running the space, but they don't. It wouldn't be so anoying if the letters weren't deliberatly sprayed over a piece of art work that was actually commisioned by those who do run the space.... Read more >>
