Virgin Atlantic boss Richard Branson acknowledges peak oil

In an interview with Global Public Media  http://globalpublicmedia.com/ , Sir Richard Branson told journalist David Strahan that aviation could be made “truly sustainable” at the launch of test flight fuelled in part by coconut oil. But the Virgin boss conceded that meaningful supplies of alternative fuel might not be available before the advent of peak oil, which he said could happen within six years.

Plane protest at Heathrow

Four Greenpeace climate campaigners have just climbed on top of a Manchester to London plane after it parked at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal One. They are now covering the tailfin with a huge protest banner that reads “CLIMATE EMERGENCY – NO 3rd RUNWAY”.

Sabbotage against Glensanda Quarry Expansion

An aggregate processing plant on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park has been sabotaged. The Plant is owned by Bardon Aggregates a member of Aggregate Industries, part of the Holcim Group and owner of the Glensanda Quarry on the north west coast of Scotland.

Planka.nu recently released its first report about the multimillion
dollar plans to build a new urban highway in Stockholm.
We also made a new Youtube-video about how to open the ticket-line and
make it stay open. Our future plans include a day of action on the 1st of march. That is
the day when Stockholm public transportation company SL increases
