The Childrens' Revolution at the Camp for Climate Action

The Children of the Eco Warriors are likely to be holding another kids' bloc Childrens' Revolution at the Camp for Climate Action near Heathrow Airport from 14 to 21 August.

It is possible that they will lead another march with their banner “The Kids Are Revolting!” in the same way that they did at the Drax power station protest in 2006.

Sacked workers demonstrate against Electra Lil-lets in Birmingham

Sacked workers, their families and fellow trade unionists held a demonstration on Thursday, 12 July, outside the Boots store in High Street, Birmingham city centre, to protest over reduced pensions following the closure of the Lil-Lets tampon-making plant in Alum Rock last June. The protest was the second in a series of protests outside Lil-Lets major customers, organised by the UK's largest union, Unite. The first one took place outside Tesco and Boots at the Beggars Bush on the Princess Alice Retail Park, Birmingham, on 7 July. Seven other protests across the Midlands are planned in July and August, while women across the Midlands are being urged to boycott Lil-Lets products.

Activists invade Agrexco Carmel

At 1.10 p.m. this afternoon, human rights protesters occupied the depot of Israel import company Agrexco Carmel. Ten people went into the depot and replaced the company's flags, changing it's Israeli flag with a Palestinian flag and switching the Union Jack with a red and black flag.

Agrexco Carmel are half-owned by Israel. Their produce is illegally produced in the occupied territories by Settlers. Agrexco Carmel is the main distributor of settlement produce.

Fortress Carmel Agrexco breached by Peace Activists

Sunday the 15th of July, ten activists entered Carmel Agrexco depot in Hayes Middlesex. The Israeli flag that usually flies was replaced with a Palestinian flag and the black flag of anarchy took the place of the Union Jack.

Carmel Agrexco import illegal produce from Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

These settlements, exist in serious breach of international law, are guarded by the Israeli army using numerous check points and the Apartheid wall, as a result of land theft from the Arab population in breach of international peace agreements

Since Oscar Beard’s month in Mayo from mid February 2007, and the Indymedia UK investigation exposing the poisoning of the Erris drinking water supply from the Corrib Gas Project, a return trip in May revealed the extent to which Mayo County Council (MCC) and Shell E & P Ireland (SEPIL) would go to hide the problem rather than deal with it.

The camp dates are drawing nearer and nearer and we're all desperate to know where it will be... but we'll just have to wait a little longer!

But what we do know is that if you get yourself to Staines railway station in West London by 10am on Tuesday 14th August, you will be greeted by our friendly welcome team and promptly transported via a magical mystery tour, to the camp! (There will also be lifts to the camp later in the day and throughout the week.)

Local Protesters Blockade Shell Construction site in Mayo

A number of Shell to Sea campaigners have established a non-violent blockade of the road leading to the proposed gas refinery site at Bellanaboy. Two protestors are locked on to an immobilized vehicle, preventing access to the site.

Second Round of Postal Workers Strike: Birmingham Picket Lines

Following failed talks with the Royal Mail management last night, postal workers across the country went on a second 24-hour strike in two weeks, starting at 7pm today. Picket lines were again mounted at sorting offices in the evening and many more are planned tomorrow morning at delivery offices and depots.

In Birmingham, three picket lines were formed at each gate of the main mail centre in Newtown. Solidarity from fellow workers, as well as from members of the West Midlands Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) union, was impressive.
