Near-nuclear disaster at Atomic Weapons Establishment

It was revealed this week that last July, the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) site at Burghfield in Berkshire was so severely flooded that it came within 2 to 3 hours of a criticality, in which there was a risk of a plutonium cloud being released that would potentially have affected millions. In addition, alarm systems failed for ten days.

Smash ITT. The middle bit (in pictures).

While some stay to pay homage to guarians of Home Farm road. With many of the demonstrators detained at the entrance to Home Farm road, others decided to take the cross country route with a mobile sound system. It has to be said that the Smash EDO Kids have impeccable taste in music. CONFILCT, OI POLLOI, CRASS, INNER TERESTRIALS, all the old favourites provided an appropriate soundtrack to what was happening in the field. Cops leaving the scene were spotted humming the tune to 'Do they owe us a living'. Probably...

Smash ITT. The end bit (in pictures).

Back on the road into town. So following the rural riot above the EDO/ITT factory, the protesters headed back into town. Only to discover that the Police still had not learned their lesson when it came to turning a peaceful situation into a potentially violent one. More arrests were seen and another pointless kettle was made in between the level and the lanes. Most avoided it and took their buckets and spades to the beach...

Join the Big Blockade of Britain’s Nuclear Bomb Factory! - Monday 27 October

Faslane Big Blockade - Oct '07 (C. Gwyntopher) On October 27, anti-nuclear campaigners will blockade the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) at Aldermaston, near Reading, aiming to send a strong signal to the British government that the public continues to oppose the development of a new generation of nuclear weapons. The Aldermaston Big Blockade, organised by Trident Ploughshares and supported by CND, Block the Builders and the Aldermaston Women's Peace Camp is intended to peacefully disrupt the ongoing work at AWE on Trident nuclear warheads and their successors. We intend it to be a colourful, empowering and fun occasion, with arrest optional!

Smash EDO - a fitwatchers perspective

Once again the ability of Smash EDO to stand up to police bullying and intimidation was impressive and inspiring. This was perhaps most obvious as the police blocked the march to the EDO factory and marchers stood their ground against police batons and pepper spray.

Education Chief Disciplined for Discrimination, Blames Brighton Council for Bad Advice

Philip Morgan leaves the General Teaching Council hearing, September 2008 A senior manager has been found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct for discrimination against a transgender teacher. Philip Morgan was employed by Brighton & Hove City Council as Education, Training and Employment Manager. The General Teaching Council for England (GTC) disciplinary panel said the ex-headteacher had “brought the reputation and standing of the profession into serious disrepute.” The Council did not reprimand him, but fought and lost against the Equality & Human Rights Commission at an earlier Employment Tribunal.

Smash ITT/EDO. Witnesses needed for assault on photographer.

Yesterday at around 2.15pm protesters emerged from the woods above the ITT factory into an adjoining field. They had brought with them a sound system. Remember "Pseudo-groups". . . .how far back does that pattern go? "Blackshirts?"

Recent information at least re-opens questions about "accepted" bits of the "historical" past. The intervention of those with pots of cash to spend on gumshoe types, either trying to smear, frame, or associate sensible-sounding types with "fire-breathing terrorists" is at least matched by the frequency of the same sort of paid gumshoe types ( sometimes touting for work, or whipping up "customers" paranoia to play a bit of "tail-wag-dog" ) setting up entirely "owned" false-flag operations, occasionally by dropping their people into a group then pushing serious/sensible people out ( either with a bit of character smearing, the accusal of them as "agent provocateurs", or wearing them down - or worse. . . . ) - but at times with entirely created groups - sometimes with several different "depths" (for when people unwittingly dragged into them saw through one layer of the spin!)
