Stop Camden Bio Hazard Lab - letter from UCL provost Malcom Grant regarding lab.
There are plans to build a deadly virus containment facility and animal testing lab in Camden on a Camden council house estate, Somers Town. The lab could be level 3 facility which means that it could contain deadly pathogens such as anthrax and bird flu. Foot and Mouth disease was leaked from govt facility Pirbright in Surrey. We wrote to Malcom Grant provost for the UCL and asked that the UCL provide education services for vulnerable young people in place of a lab.[Full Story ]

How to Get to Vestas - go there now!
It's really important that people get down to Vestas ASAP to prevent the last few Wind Turbine Blades remaining in the St Cross Business Park, Newport, IOW factory, and in Southampton Docks, from leaving to America. This is a really good piece of leverage to argue for reinstatement of sacked workers, better redundancy packages, installation of the blades on turbines in the UK, a buyout of the factory and worker control of it, and better Energy and Climate Change policies from govt, businesses, trade unions, individuals etc. Get on it![Full Story | 3 comments ]

Urgent: Vestas Blade Blockade Needs You
Activists outside the Vestas factory on the St Cross Business Park, Dodnor Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight have been tipped off that Tuesday at 12 noon a 'Blade Runner' barge is coming down the river Medina to the Vestas factory from Southampton to pick up some of the remaining blades still inside the factory. CALAIS - focus on UK Border Agency, call for actions this Wednesday
What is about to happen in Calais is not a matter 'for the French', it's part of a coordinated European approach to curbing migration. The responsibility for the situation facing migrants in Calais rests partly with the UK Border Agency, as well as the wider UK government, whose wars many people in Calais are trying to escape. For example, many Afghans in Calais talk of the UK as "my enemy's enemy", ie against the Taliban. But it's all fucked up. So they come to seek shelter in the UK.[Full Story ]
