Mayday! Mayday! Anti-Militarist Map of Brighton

On May 4th Smash EDO are holding a mas s street party against war, greed and militarism. Here's a handy map of war profiteers in Brighton and Hove.

MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU

Over the years Mayday has been a time to celebrate ordinary people's struggle against global capitalism. The growing anti-militarist movement is a part of that struggle. On May 4th people from across the UK and beyond will come to Brighton in a show of force against EDO MBM/ITT, who profit from the suffering of ordinary people in Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine.

EDO MBM/ITT do not operate in a vacuum. The weapons they manufacture couldn't be produced without the support of other corporations; investors, business partners and companies providing services to them. This map plots the network of companies complicit in ITT's crimes in Brighton.

aint no Jade Goodie - just a brother from another mother

CONFUSIN’ MY MIND – IT’S A SIGN OF THE TIMES
Is life all just a game – has the world gone insane?
Some folks think i’m mad cause i refuse to be sad
I refuse to accapt that this life is a lie...
I refuse to accept that this life is just a lie
That children don’t matter – ain’t there no family ties?
United we stand and divided we fall
We must all stand together – no more backs to the wall

UK Customs & Excise resort to intimidation of and theft from pensioners

An extended community of old aged pensioners are held for an hour and a half by British authorities in Calais. Five are interrogated with malice, and three have £200 each worth of legally exportable tobacco confiscated. Ancient woodland threatened by oil drilling help us try and save it!

Ancient Bury Hill Wood Europa Oil and Gas has applied to drill for oil at Bury Hill Wood which is part of the Abinger Forest, Surrey. The hydrocarbon exploration site (or oil well as most people know it!) will result in the loss of 0.74 hectares (1.8 acres) of precious ancient woodland.

The testing phase of the application will last a minimum of five weeks, however depending on what is found the works could last significantly longer.
