No to state racism! Defend all asylum seekers! No to deportations! No to the racist Labour government!

The next protest in the series of monthly protests at Dallas Court Reporting Centre, South Langworthy Road, Salford Quays (nearest Tram stop Broadway), will be held on Monday 26 March 2007 at 12pm - 2pm. People are kidnapped daily at Dallas Court and taken to detention centres, and racially abused and insulted by racist staff. All are urged to attend and support these protests against the oppression of asylum seekers by this racist Labour government. NWASDG has been organising these protests since May 2006. Get involved!

Deportation from US shows corruption, hypocrisy over our shared heritage

28-02-2007 11:00

I was deported from the US in 1999 after a 51 day hunger strike protesting at bigoted treatment by police following an altercation over a trivial argument with a female university student in Boulder in November 1993. The ensuing struggle -to clear my name, address American ignorance and arrogance, and play my part in amending their hypocritical immigration laws -epitomises political corruption. What follows is an e-mail sent to journalists following a scheduled sentencing at Blackfriars Crown Court, London last September over this issue.

Two new books by noted Filipino author E. SAN JUAN, Jr. explore the predicament of millions of Filipinos leaving the Philippines and working or settling in other countries (thousands in the UK, Ireland, and the E.U.) around the world--an unprecedented 9-10 milllion of 85 million Filipinos are scattered around the planet. Their huge remittance props up a sharply divided class society where a tiny oligarchy (supported by Washington/Pentagon) exploits and oppresses the majority. Over 830 victims of extrajudicial killings occured from 2001 up to the present under Arroyo's corrupt, illegitimate regime. Why is this happening?
