Stop the Mass Deportation of UK/Nigerian Families

A number of Nigerian families/single women are currently detained in Yarl's Wood IRC and due to be forcibly removed from the UK on a 'Ethnic Charter flight', flight number PVT007 (carrier unknown), from the UK @ 17:45 (airport unknown) to Dublin tomorrow Thursday, 11 December 2008. On arrival in Dublin it will pick up Irish/Nigerian families and then fly to Lagos, Nigeria.

Amey Noise Demo Report

Angered by the rejection of the sacked migrants appeal, one of the workers and people from oxford, bristol and south wales no borders made a right racket outside Amey's Oxford HQ.

In September 2008 five Colombian cleaners working for Amey Plc at the
National Physical Laboratory were suspended for daring to criticise Amey
for putting an excessive workload onto ever fewer staff, for
unilaterally changing terms and conditions and for disrespecting
grievance procedures. The five have since been sacked.

The Home Office has re-opened the immigration detention centre at Manchester airport on Friday. In fact, Borders and Immigration minister Phil Woolas (the one with the pie in the face) was there personally to “unveil” the immigration prison. As if it was something to celebrate!

Protest against ID cards on 10th December in Cardiff

The last demo
On Wednesday 10th December the registration of non-EEA students and spouses for ID cards will begin in Cardiff. At 12 noon No Borders South Wales will be holding a protest outside the UK Border Agency at 31-33 Newport Road where this registration will happen.

Amey offices entered as campaign for sacked colombian cleaners grows

More than twenty protestors entered the offices of Amey Plc in High Holborn on Friday in protest at the sacking of five Colombian cleaners and the rejection of their appeal. The protesters entered the office building to give a petition letter to an Amey representative but were blocked by security in the lobby and were told Amey did not want to see them. After the occupation Julio, one of the sacked cleaners, stayed behind to give the letter but Amey still refused to see him.

Yorkshire Activists blockade Sheffield Border Agency Centre

At 8am this morning a group of Yorkshire activists blockaded the
Sheffield Border Agency Interrogation Centre at Vulcan House using
bicycle locks and superglue to attach themselves to both entrances. The
group are there in response to the introduction of compulsory ID cards
for non-EU people on student or marriage visas. They are displaying two
banners, one reads “My identity is not your property” and the other
“Nothing to hide? Everything to fear! Defy ID!”

Taranjit Bajaj and Hussain Ali Khairkoh are two Afghani men in detention that the Home Office intends to forcibly remove to Kabul on Tuesday 2nd December on a private "Ethnic Charter flight" from an unknown airport as part of "Operation Ravel". Both men are members of religious minorities in Afghanistan that have been subject to persecution in the past. They both need your help. Please take action as soon as you can to help them.
