Blockage of Colnbrook in 2011 against charter flights
New group Cardiff Migrant Solidarity have set up an anti-deportation campaign for Chijioke Elijah, A Nigerian Activist who was arrested in Bridgend on Tuesday 26th June. Chijioke Elijah is currently being detained at Colnbrook IRC and has been given removal directions for the 5th July charter flight that is due to land in several African countries.

The lead up to the Olympics has seen a rapid increase of police brutality against migrant communities in Calais and their supporters. Calais is an 'Olympic village' during the Games and in preparation the authorities have begun cleaning up the streets to make Calais 'migrant free'.

In faraway Sri Lanka, which is never faraway for the political manipulations through the Oxford University using the Oxford Union, amidst contradictory accounts, an email from James Kingston, then president of the Oxford Union dating back to sometime after december 2010 is revealed.
Despite credible allegations that the PR outfit Bell Pottinger organised the whole event, James Kingston comes up with a different version and stands 'by my invitation to the President, and had looked forward to his speech with great excitement'. James Kingston also seems to assert that no one else holds power in the Oxford Union while claiming ownership for the decision to pull the plug on the 'largest demonstration seen in the history of Oxford'

Australia jails duped Indonesian children with adults for “people smuggling”

Almost all Australians have no sympathy for those they perceive as people smugglers. I do not blame Australians for that because they don’t know the real story about why they end up in Australian waters. I believe Australians know only what journalists tell them through the media.
The real story of the people who crew the boats is that they are lied to by the Mr Bigs, the organisers, who have little sense of responsibility towards them.

Barnardo's has built up a carefully constructed image of gentle benevolence and charitable goodness, as portrayed on their website. In their list of "What we do", they fail to mention their complicity in running a detention centre for children and families, something we felt should be drawn to the public's attention.

No lock-ons, tripods or superglue...just bodies. A spontaneous sit-down protest in front of an airport-bound deportation coach helped gain time for a last ditch legal challenge, which cancelled the enforced removal of about 40 ‘failed’ Tamil asylum-seekers.

More than a douzen people are currently outside the UKBA offices in Glasgow supporting three people locked on to prevent dawn raids on local families.

The protest and lock-ons have survived 4 hours so far but cutting teams have just begun work.
