Israel: Off Your Trolley

On Saturday 5th December supporters of Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! held a lively demonstration in support of Palestine to mark one year since Israel’s brutal attacks on Gaza. Using the slogan, ‘Israel: off your trolley’, protesters staged a rolling picket of high street companies involved in supporting Israel economically and politically.

Nestle KitKat to be Fairtrade - except bars involving child slavery

The Guardian newspaper (7 December 2009) has reported that Nestlé is to have four-finger KitKat chocolate bars certified by the Fairtrade Foundation in the UK.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/dec/07/fairtrade-kit-kat

A few turned out but not so many as could have been or even as expected, but then what do you expect? One communst red flag was present and some of anarchist flags... I reckon in all about 40 people... It was good that it was organised and they got their message across.

Communication Workers Union president resigns from Socialist Workers Party

Britain’s Socialist Worker newspaper acknowledged on November 29 that Jane Loftus, president of the Communication Workers Union (CWU), has quit the Socialist Workers Party. Its manner of doing so only confirms how deeply embroiled the SWP is in the rampant opportunism that led to her departure.
