Last night at Rochdale Town Hall, a packed public audience cheered as the Township planning committee rejected a Countryside Properties (Northern) Ltd application to build 186 homes on the site of a former Tannery, Bleach and Dye works at Greenbooth, Norden.

Protesters pressure Environment Agency to take action on incinerator

Incinerators make me sick!

At 8am this morning 30 campaigners from NAIL protested outside the Environment Agencies offices on Scarrington Road, off Ladybay Bridge. We greeted the employees of the EA as they arrived for work, we handed them flyers, waved banners and placards and delivered them a letter.

We are demanding action to be taken over the highly polluting, emission breaching, cancer causing incinerator, which has had 27 known pollution breaches over the past 4 years.

WHO bird flu expert says 300 dead in China, government hiding the truth

consultant, believed that China has had 300 human deaths from bird flu and is hiding the true extent of the disease from the rest of the world.

Day of recycling fun in Sneinton to oppose incinerator expansion

On Saturday 3rd December a large community day will be held in Sneinton, Nottingham, to raise awareness of the proposed expansion of the Eastcroft incinerator and promote recycling through fun and games. Sneinton's Rubbish Day Out is an event organised by the local community and the NAIL campaign.

Artists will work to put new use to waste materials as lantern making, basket weaving, banner painting and wallet making workshops will take place throughout the day. Other activities include poetry, speakers, live music and refreshments from the new Sneinton community cafe collective.

“It will be a day to show people there are better and more positive ways of dealing with waste other than incineration. “ *

Sneinton's Rubbish Day Out will be held at the Old School Hall, Windmill Lane, Sneinton, Nottingham. Workshops and info from 11am – 4pm. Admission free. Live music from 6.30 until midnight ₤2. Parking on site available.

NAIL campaign 'banner drop' at Sneinton Boulevard, Nottingham

Nottingham Against Incineration and Landfill [NAIL] is campaigning organisation intent on drawing attention to the incineration of waste at the Eastcroft plant and the proposed expansion of capacity there.

On Saturday afternoon, a bunch of concerned residence and activists, hung a banner across Sneinton Boulevard to promote the campaign.

On Saturday 3rd December Sneinton's Rubbish Day Out will be held at the Old School Hall on Windmill Lane. The day will include art workshops, recycling activities, community cafe, live music, poetry and performance. 11am until midnight.

They are also working hard with locals in NOLA to rebuild and campaign for the rights of the poor who lived in the 7th and 9th Ward areas of New Orleans that were flooded and were affected the most by hurricane katrina.
