24-07-2007 09:55It makes certain sense Syria, with its puny military—when stacked up against Israel, armed to the teeth by the United States—and its out-moded Russian tanks and planes, would eventually adopt Hezbollah’s winning strategy, as there is simply no way it can go up against Israel on the battlefield. Naturally, this new development pokes a big hole in the Likudnik and neocon agenda to take out all of Israel’s enemies in turn.
24-07-2007 00:09Can you imagine what would happen if Dr Haneef is a white Anglo-Australian detained in India, accused of trafficking in narcotic drugs? Actually, you don’t have to imagine. The entire Indian justice system will be on trial in Australia, accused of corruption and injustice. In Australia, a Guantanamo Bay justice applied to Dr Haneef even with the presumption of innocence.
23-07-2007 10:58With 18 months left in office and his presidency foundering, George Bush is like a cornered animal desperate enough to try anything to survive. Surrounded by a dwindling, but still potent, number of hard liners, this article suggests a disturbing scenario ahead that bodes ill for the nation and world if it happens. It appears the Bush administration's scheme involves changing the subject by scare-mongering that may be followed by staging one or more major home-based terror attacks on the order of 9/11, then waging war with Iran on the phony pretext Tehran threatens US and regional security. Further strikes may also be planned against the tribal areas of Pakistan along with backing Israel's intentions against Syria, Hezbollah, and Hamas. These will be ominous developments if they happen as explained above. In an effort to survive and finish out their term in office, George Bush and Dick Cheney may be willing to gamble everything for what, in the end, can't be achieved.

There will probably be police photographers outside the meeting, don't be intimidated. You might choose to wear a scarf in this unpredictable weather.
22-07-2007 23:28Like a Frankenstein monster that escapes the castle and preys on innocent villagers, “militants” of the Islamic Emirate of Waziristan, itself a creation of the doctor Frankenstein relationship between Pakistan’s ISI and the CIA, are out of control, thus prompting the U.S. to threaten invasion.
22-07-2007 13:17Latest Anglo-Russian spat is all about targeting Putin
22-07-2007 12:23Three anti arms trade protesters arrested at a blockade of EDO MBM at the time of the Israeli bombing of Lebanon last Summer are in Brighton Magistrates Court tomorrow
22-07-2007 11:44Besides the Bush administration's imperial aims and permanent war on the world, add the one at home below the radar. Its weapons include the WTO, NAFTA, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI, CIA, NSA, NORTHCOM, militarized state and local police, National Guard forces, paramilitary mercenaries like Blackwater USA, and all other repressive instruments of state power and control. They target the people of three nations slowly becoming one headquartered in Washington.
21-07-2007 11:30The Executive Order criminalizes the antiwar movement. It is intended to "blocking property" of US citizens and organizations actively involved in the peace movement. It allows the Department of Defense to interfere in financial affairs and instruct the Treasury to "block the property" and/or confiscate/ freeze the assets of "Certain Persons" involved in antiwar activities. It targets those "Certain Persons" in America, including civil society organizatioins, who oppose the Bush Administration's "peace and stability" program in Iraq, characterized, in plain English, by an illegal occupation and the continued killing of innocent civilians.
21-07-2007 10:00It's nothing new for the Islamic regime in Iran to be condemned by the United States government. Yet there's something else about this July 17 press release from the U.S. State Department that stands out as being glaringly preposterous.
20-07-2007 20:53And now, citizens, or rather immigrants, must be careful to lend their SIM cards to their relatives. The reasons might be honourable enough to use the rest of the credit at some future date. The suggestion in Canberra is different: They might end up in a global conspiracy to target civilians, stretching from Scotland to Queensland, consumed in a Glaswegian fireball at a rather ugly looking airport or plotting to blow up nightclubs.
Those words were written by the Fatah warlord Mohammed Dahlan in a 13 July 2003 letter to then Israeli defense minister Shaul Mofaz.

20-07-2007 03:53Although not all NATO states have been engaged in the following impugned actions, through their membership in NATO they have been complicit.. Under Article V of the NATO Constitution, an attack on one is an attack on all. So an impunity caused by one state, is an impunity caused by all. The condoning, by some members of NATO, of an attack on nuclear installations in a sovereign state implicates all NATO members.
19-07-2007 21:01The “war on terrorism” is a foreign policy weapon favored by an elite and ironclad Anglo-American consensus, supported equally by Washington’s political factions. The surge of "al-Qaeda" covert operations and "terrorism" propaganda over the past three weeks, and reports of “renewed al-Qaeda power," marks the beginning of intensified false flag deception.
Two years too long to wait for justice.
19-07-2007 09:32At a peaceful demonstration against Brighton arms company EDO MBM yesterday a protester was arrested and a sound system seized in the latest show of force by Sussex police. Police used an obscure council bylaw which has never been used in a prosecution to confiscate the equipment. Last week the same protester had charges for a public order offence dropped after having to spend two days in court.
18-07-2007 22:30The Guardian and The Observer are in the middle of a remarkable series of articles about Iran and the chances of an American attack on Iran.
This pattern of deception in The Guardian about Iran has become so obvious that it is creating a controversy of its own, with the paper receiving the worst insult in journalism, being compared to the New York Times.
