Student protests literally exploded all over Italy to block the approval of the new infamous Gelmini reform, which aims at privatising the university and turning it into a profit-making machine. Thousands and thousands of students have held demonstrations all over the peninsula and occupied university buildings.

Loughborough College students were a magnificent exuberant crowd making their voice heard around the town centre against the cuts in education and against the rise in tuition fees. This was a large protest with a big voice for a small town.

SOAS Occupation Delays Court Injunction in High Court Battle

Students in their 3rd day of occupation at SOAS University were yesterday issued an application for an injunction by the University administration. Their request for an adjournment was granted by the High Court.

As the majority of occupiers joined 20,000 university, FE and school students from across London on a demonstration in central London, a few SOAS students stayed behind to defend the occupation space. University management chose this moment to pursue their legal challenge.

Not surprisingly the Police acted in the interests of four wheeled vehicle's rather than the safety of living things.... or productivity over life... No supprise there... But Manchester student's showed resolve and courage facing off the stupidity of her majesties finest, ahgghm, whilst being calm and reasoned in their responses.

Southampton saw multiple protests against national and local government yesterday, with students from schools and colleges walking out to protest against proposed fee rises and university cutbacks by the coalition government, whilst UNISON members agreed a resolution to oppose the City Council's cutbacks in a packed meeting before spontaneously marching on the Civic Centre.
