The Unsuitablog has published a series of articles analysing the way that school supermarket voucher schemes work; how the supermarkets are infiltrating the education system in a deeply pervasive manner; the different greenwashing methods the supermarkets are using; the incredible financial benefit that the supermarkets are gaining from the way "rewards" are given out. This is a serious case of childhood commercial exploitation that no one seems to be taking seriously -- because we all seem to love these schemes.

Nottingham SU Council back racist

Yesterday Nottingham SU Council voted down a no confidence motion against racist Education Officer, Craig Cox. Cox held up a banner reading 'Bring Back Slavery' at an NUS meeting during the summer. In spite of a mass lobbying campaign, including a 60 strong picket of the council meeting, the vote for the motion fell well short of the two-thirds required to pass it.

Help stop a school being torn down for "private affordable housing"

the old burradon community school. is being tared down to make way for "affordable privet housing" this is an outrage especially with the current finances in ruins

there need to be quick action as demolition has already started to take place but if were quick we can get this turned over and even possibly turned in to a community center as the council prommised

Students mobilise against racism on campus

Students gathered on Thursday to discuss the disgraceful action of Nottingham National Union of Students (NUS) Executive member Craig Cox who held up a sign saying "Bring Back Slavery" at an NUS event. The feeling was that this was a sad reflection on the ignorance and racism that exists in the university and that Cox must be removed from his position.
