Calling all students, take back your campus

Students at, the University of Birmingham along with the university of Birmingham guild of students have called a demonstration, on Wednesday February 15th 1pm to fight the controversial “ban” on protests. The injunction has been widely condemned as censorious and regressive by groups including amnesty international.

New Unionism: a conference on how workers can fight back

In the late 1880s, workers (often unskilled or semi-skilled, often migrants and often working in casualised and precarious environments) organised militant industrial unions to fight back against their bosses. Socialist activists like Eleanor Marx, Tom Mann and Will Thorne were crucial to the struggles.

Statement from the Wilderness Centre : On the day of Gloucestershire County Council meeting that will determine the councils next course of action.

Two activists jedi'd their way into the meeting, and handing out our "statement of intent" (link below) to the officious types sat around with members of the police, various council officers and advisors in Shire Hall, Gloucester, before being asking to leave -all was very polite, civil and in good humour.

We await their decision, which will dictate our next move.

Montgomery Primary School Strike

Montgomery Primary school is being forced to become an academy, a move which both teachers and parents are opposed to. We are actively looking for support from the local community, environmental activists, nature lovers, foresters, wilderness survival experts, sustainable skills educators, healers, crafty/arty types of all dispositions, gardeners, lecturers and anyone else wanting to offer their skills and knowledge to people willing to learn to come and be live-in volunteers at our recently reopened education centre!
