And as well as celebrating the achievement of the last year, it is looking ahead by calling for more people to join the occupation and for solidarity action against the businesses threatening to destroy the countryside location.

Friday nights critical mass was massive with with no indication that the traditional monthly critical mass bike ride was endangered by the recent court ruling that organisers of such a ride might be breaking the law.

Court Demo - Defend Common Ground Community Garden!

At the beginning of this year a group of friends came together with a shared purpose: to create an open space within Reading's concrete jungle, where people could take a breather from the stresses of modern life and relax with their friends and neighbours. Having discovered a plot of land within the Katesgrove area, left to ruin by Reading Borough Council, they got to work.

Virgin spoil-sports - TAA exhibition obstructed

The Temporary Autonomous Art event taking place in a squatted venue once used by Reuters was today obstructed by a private security firm apparentlty employed by the Virgin Media Group who allegedly own the building which has been left empty for several years until occupied by the TAA earlier in the week.

Dancing Down the Borders!

The shake g8 bike caravan to the G8 Summit passed the German-Polish border in Schwedt today (16.05.07). In fancy-dress, with cheerleaders, dancers and a dj we danced down the border, quite literally! We were taped by the associated press and local tv station. There was a large amount of police, and they were clearly expecting us. But all managed to pass eventually except for our support vehicle, the police who claim it is "unroadworthy".
