Wall Street Journal on private property/internet monopolies-What would Lenin say

04-02-2012 10:53

It's kind of ironic that Wall Street Journal, a newspaper owned by media tycoon R. Murdoch, published this article, that accurately describes how monopolies are formed, and talks about how even the internet is now in the process of being controlled by a few monopolies.

The WSJ article was written by Tim Wu, a professor at Columbia Law School, and it was published back in November 13, 2010:

Shift Magazine: Review Paul Mason's new book

30-01-2012 15:11

Of all the events of 2011, the least predictable may well be the adoption of the economics editor of Newsnight as an avuncular figure for the left’s new generation. But Paul Mason’s gift for being in the right place at the right time, and reporting from there with enthusiasm, vitality and sympathy has made him stand out from the crowd, not only amongst mainstream journalists but also intellectuals, who tend to have neither his wit or reach.

Censorship: Britain bans Press TV

21-01-2012 20:56

For the first time, British government censors have banned a 24-hour news channel from British viewers. As of the afternoon, UK-time, 20th January 2012, viewers of Press TV, an avowedly anti-imperialist TV channel headquartered in Tehran, saw the words “Channel Unavailable” when tapping their clicker. And so the war on Iran by Britain, Israel and the U.S. continues using propaganda, proxy militants and asymmetric warfare.

The World War on Democracy

Lisette Talate died the other day. I remember a wiry, fiercely intelligent woman who masked her grief with a determination that was a presence. She was the embodiment of people's resistance to the war on democracy. I first glimpsed her in a 1950s Colonial Office film about the Chagos islanders, a tiny creole nation located midway between Africa and Asia in the Indian Ocean.

BBC finally admits western imperialist forces toppled the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya

18-01-2012 19:11

British special forces were deployed on the ground in order to help the UK's allies - the Libyan revolutionaries often called the National Transitional Council or NTC. Those with a knowledge of the programme insist "they did a tremendous job" and contributed to the final collapse of the Gaddafi regime.
This exposes the apalling collusion of various British left groups and individuals including the SWP, Stop the War, George Galloway and Yvonne Ridley with the forces of western imperialism.

11-01-2012 10:16

"If China," says Mr. Stapleton, M.P., to his constituents, "should become a great manufacturing country, I do not see how the manufacturing population of Europe could sustain the contest without descending to the level of their competitors." (Times, Sept. 3, 1873, p. 8.).
