24-05-2007 23:02This is just a rehash of corporate news, but it seems important enough to justify it.
24-05-2007 19:56Israeli forces launched an extensive arrest campaign in several West Bank cities on Thursday morning, culminating in the arrest of the Palestinian minister of education, Nasser Addin Ash-Sha'er, and former minister of public works, Abdur-Rahman Zeidan, in addition to a number of Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) members and mayors.
24-05-2007 15:48More news about the increasing research into the deployment of 'less-than-lethal' weapons, in this case the use of incapacitating drugs. We've always known about the bizarre situation where the use of chemical weapons on the battlefield is illegal, but its OK to use them on your own population.
The move towards 'less-than-lethal' weapons includes all sorts of machines, chemicals and biological agents that could make you lose muscular control, vomit (set phasers to 'puke' as opposed to 'stun'), shit your pants, suffer palpitations, restrict your breathing, fraggle your brain and generally fuck you up without (theoretically) killing you.
24-05-2007 15:28One aspect of the recent Hodge affair which has not received attention is the fact that Margaret's husband, Henry, is involved in immigration decision making.

24-05-2007 08:30John Pilger describes how Gaza in Palestine has come to symbolise the imposition of great power on the powerless, in the Middle East and all over the world, and how a vocabulary of double standard is employed to justify this epic tragedy. 24-05-2007 02:36Just as critics (and the UN) said at the time, Israel committed several War Crimes in its attacks on Lebanon. It's a bit late to save the UN observers Israel murdered after they said this publicly, but perhaps the Zionist Lobby, which attacked politicians who said this, could find the time to apologize for their actions ...
23-05-2007 16:47“The youth are waiting, day after day. They wait for their time; as do the workers, even the old. They all wait, those who are discontented and those who reflect. They are waiting for a force to arise, something they will be part of; a kind of new international that will not make the same mistakes as the previous ones. They wait for a chance to get rid of the past once and for all – for something new to begin.
WE HAVE BEGUN.”

23-05-2007 14:18yesterday at horseferry road, district judge snow found steve jago and barbara tucker both guilty of obstructing a police officer in the course of their duty. the offence is alleged to have been carried out at charing cross police station (which is outside the socpa designated area). but he passed a community service order sentence excluding them both from the designated area for one year. can this be seen as anything other than a political act?
23-05-2007 13:03At the beginning of this year a group of friends came together with a shared purpose: to create an open space within Reading's concrete jungle, where people could take a breather from the stresses of modern life and relax with their friends and neighbours.
