11-11-2007 16:4311 November 2007 is the 120th anniversary of the execution of the anarchist Haymarket martyrs: George Engel, Adolf Fischer, Albert Parsons and August Spies. Is it just ancient history to today's anarchists?
11-11-2007 00:05The Narmada Bachao Andolan campaign just sent out an urgent appeal for help.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPM], is currently massacring the people of the area Nandigram, where there have been rising protest against the establishments of Special Economic Zones. SEZs allow corporations the right to evict entire populations to construct heavy industrial projects. The SEZ in Nandigram would allow Indonesia's largest conglomerate, the Salim Group, to forcefully acquire 57km2 of land and affect 40,000 people to create a chemical hub. On the 4th of March this year 14 demonstrators were killed by a mixture of Police and CPM members, dressed as Police. Todays attempt to force the people of Nandigram from their land is far, far graver.

10-11-2007 10:27Post-invasion non-violent excess deaths in Occupied Afghanistan - a month on from the 6th anniversary of the war criminal US invasion and occupation on 7th October 2001 – now total an estimated 3.2 million. However comparisons with Occupied Iraq (1.5-2 million TOTAL post-invasion excess deaths, and 0.8-1.2 million or about 50% of these being VIOLENT deaths) suggest that the post-invasion violent excess deaths in Occupied Afghanistan could total 3 million.

09-11-2007 15:57The next time you are invited to Working Links and are baffled by their inability to acknowledge structural causes for your unemployment it is worth considering the Christian ethos which underlines their approach. This results from the fact that 'the Links' are part-owned by the Australian charity Mission Australia. So, if you think unwillingness or inability to work is about more than low self-esteem, read on.

08-11-2007 15:55Anyone have a scooby-doo clue what Ken and his cohorts are up to now?
I thought Ken had deep concern for the grass, unlike his love of human rights and the rights of shelter to peace campaigners...
Today there are almost no cars on the streets, people stay at home.
08-11-2007 14:11As informed by grassroot group Scotland Against Criminalising Communities, our lefty lawyer Aamer Anwar is likely to face contempt of court charges for disagreeing with the judge in the Siddique "terrorism" case.
At Edinburgh High Court - 23rd of October, Lord Carloway sentenced Mohammed Atif Siddique - convicted last month of "terrorism" offences - to a total of 8 years in jail.
The main point of controversy seem to be the different opinions in if the defendant actually did anything illegal.
08-11-2007 12:01On December 11 2007 at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester a private conference is being held and run by the Information Commissioner whose opic is the dangers of a surveillance society. Places for delegates are limited to a decidedly undemocratic 130 places. This is an ideal opportunity to challenge the domination of this debate by 'sensible liberals'.

a decision if they will legalize our squat. It is
likely that the decision is going to be negative,
but our struggle can change that.
