New campaign to stop the 'revolving door' between Government and arms companies,

LONDON: Campaign Against Arms Trade is launching its new campaign to stop the inappropriate movement of staff between Government and arms companies or the 'revolving door' as its sometimes known[1]. CAAT will be protesting at a symposium held by the Government's Defence Export Services Organisation, a civil service department promoting arms exports [2], at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Broad Sanctuary, Westminster, London on Wednesday 9 March 2005. About fifty people are expected to attend with placards and street theatre.

is appearing today in GHARDAIA (southern Algeria)
court where he faces for “criminal charges”.
Detained in Ghardaia since the end of october 2004
,Fekhar was accused to be the main instigator of the
demonstrations having shaked this region of southern
Algeria last october in violation of the country’s

Privatisation and corporate rule or workers' control? That's the situation for southern Iraqi oil workers, who are fighting Haliburton for control of their industry. The Southern Oil Company Union (SOCU) is one of the workers' organisations that is resisting this privatisation; their President, Hassan Juma'a, visited the UK in February 2005.

Protest at home of bailiff Bryan Constant

Around a dozen people protested outside the home of bailiff Bryan Constant, of Riseley, Bedfordshire on Sunday. Protestors rang bells, blew whistles & hit pots & pans.

Mr Constant runs Constant & Co, a Bedford - based company that specializes in evicting Travellers using violence, often from land that they have bought and occupied for years. In January Constant Baliffs jumped on a man at Twin Oaks, Borehamwood, cracking his ribs.

Letters were delivered to Constant's neighbors, informing them of his activities, and posters were put up in the village, calling on Constant & Co to end their Brutal & Racist evictions.

I've just found out this afternoon that my local Post Office on Chesterton Road, Cambridge has until March 19th of this month to stay open, then after that it's closing down, as per orders of Royal Mail head office.

House Arrest To Be Used Against G8 protesters

Tony Blair in scotland for the Scottish Labour conference told the Sunday Mail that he couldnt "rule out" the possibility that the current house arrest legislation going through Parliament could be used against G8 protesters, Doubtless this is the real reason for the rush rather then the loads of old bollocks about hundreds of trained terrorists running around being put out by the likes of John Stevens.
