Aubonne: Speakers Tour of victims of Police Brutality

The two activists who were blocking the traffic of the Aubonne- motorway bridge during the protests against the G8 summit in Evian last year are on Tour in Switzerland. An excellent meeting took place in Cambridge yesterday to discuss the possibilities of setting some kind of new collective in the city. It was surprisingly well attended given the short notice and less than perfect advertising and it seems that quite a few of us have been wanting something like this to emerge for a while.

Immediate Withrawal of Spanish Troops from Iraq!

In a surprise press release, the new Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, has announced that this morning he had ordered the immediate withdrawal of Spanish troops from occupied Iraq.

This is seen as a great victory of the massive anti-war movement in the Spanish State.

The BRussells Tribunal is a hearing committee composed of academics, intellectuals and artists in the tradition of the Russell Tribunal, set up in 1967 to investigate war crimes committed during the Vietnam War. The hearing was scheduled for 14-17th April 2004 at The Beursschouwburg and Les Halles in Brussels.

Colombian opposition leaders allege that the Uribe government is preparing another military agression against Venezuela. Paramilitaries aided by the Colombian Army have several times attacked targets in Venezuela. The White House is accused of wanting to exploit an armed confrontation between the two countries to gain control of Venezuelan oil.

The Countryside Alliance has condemned the activities of anti-hunt 'investigators' and the allegations that they made against the Plas Machynlleth Hunt. A committee of inquiry of the Federation of Welsh Packs, held yesterday at Builth Wells, found that the allegations were unfounded.
