Cherie's Pilgrimage- Fucking Neo-liberals

30-09-2006 19:11

This was written before the Pope offended the Muslims, Jews
and Catholics. Ms Booth met Pope Benedict (in a veil) to discuss
fortress Europe's dwindling birth-rate, Whilst her husband is
prosecuting Illegal wars . Benedict's 'Schulerkreis' in Castelgandalfo
was preoccupied with the dogmatic definition of the Genesis Narrative.
It is a feminist polemic around the issue of intelligent design
and how dogmatics affect women's place in Western Christian Hegemony.

BRACE! BRACE! BRACE! - Time for BAA to fasten its seatbelts...

30-09-2006 17:05

"There's turbulence ahead for the British Airports Authority", was the message from protesters gathering for an introduction to direct action today.

Years of letter writing and lobbying of MPs may have kept the deceitful, climate-wrecking actions of the air industry in the public eye, but the cosy relationship between BAA and the DoT means they get to do what they want anyway. That's ever more short haul flights, no tax on fuel, and new runways, terminals and access roads.

US Senate votes 100-0 for $70 billion more in war spending

30-09-2006 16:23

The unanimous vote by the US Senate on Friday to approve the Bush administration’s request for an additional $70 billion to finance the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan demonstrates a basic truth of American politics: the Democratic Party, no less than the Republicans, is a party of imperialist militarism and war.

"No More Fallujahs": A month of action against war and occupation

30-09-2006 13:43

On 8th November 2004 the US – with British assistance – launched a massive assault against the Iraqi city of Fallujah. Hundreds of civilians were killed, tens of thousands of people forced to flee their homes and white phosphorus – a substance that burns down to the bone – used as a weapon.

This October, a month of activities - culminating in a weekend of
nonviolent civil disobedience against the occupation - will mark the
anniversary of that attack.

IRAQ REVISIONISM AT ITS WORST

30-09-2006 09:58

One point that I have been making all along has left some naysayers, and even anti-war people, shaking their heads: Desert Storm’s main goal was not to remove Iraqi troops from Kuwait, but to stop at least one generation of Iraqis from becoming productive citizens.

“A Total Rollback Of Everything This Country Has Stood For”:

30-09-2006 08:27

A Total Rollback Of Everything
The Senate has agreed to give President Bush extraordinary power to detain and try prisoners in the so-called war on terror. The legislation strips detainees of the right to challenge their own detention and gives the President the power to detain them indefinitely. The bill also immunizes U.S. officials from prosecution for torturing detainees who the military and the CIA captured before the end of last year. We get reaction from Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Michael Ratner of the Center for Constitutional Rights
