Evictions from Parliament Square?

Why no reports?
On TV news yesterday there was a short coverage of the fact that the long-standing tents there had been removed by police but this seems to have been overlooked by the rest of the media, which is surprising.

Resistas, Hectic Egg & El Dia at Sumac
31-08-2011 20:55
Notts ABC put on another great fundraiser last night. A night of radical feminist DIY music, spoken word and zines featured the ReSistas from Vienna as well as locals Hectic Egg and El Dia. There was a great turnout and atmosphere and some really amazing performances and all proceeds will go towards prisoner support.
First up was El Dia who blew us away with a set of passionate and conscious anti-imperialist, feminist poetry and hip hop. El Dia is one half of the Sisters of Resistance, an 'international group of revolutionary young women'. Check them out! Next up were the hilarious duo Hectic Egg whose punk songs about robbing bras from British Home Stores and giving the vicar's wife cunnilingus had the crowd roaring along with each chorus. Last but not least, the ReSistas bitter sweet acoustic songs about love and loss brought another more contemplative mood again.
Big up to the performers and the organisers for putting on a great night!

Urgently needed at Dale FarmParliament Square Padlocks

Protest against Parliament Square's closure by attaching a padlock to one of the fences.
Large grey fences have obstructed Parliament Square for well over a year now.
It is not clear for how much longer Londoners will be denied access to one of the capital's much used and enjoyed public spaces.
The authorities have not been transparent in stating the circumstances that the square will come back into public use: as any visitor can see, it clearly has nothing to do with the grass growing back...
In protest at its indefinite closure, I've attached a padlock to one of the fences in mockery of the London authorities. I hope others will do the same, and adorn the fence panels surrounding the square with padlocks.
Free the square!
