Assistant Chief Constable Adrian Leppard of Kent Police says the arrests are "one of the largest, if not the largest, police operation that has targeted animal extremism in the UK." Millions of workers and students on strike: report of the first 12 hours of the May 2 strikeJust six months after Calderon assumed the presidency and the anti-fraud movement and the APPO were defeated, the situation in Mexico is heating up again. The previous showdown over the elections and the revolutionary struggle in Oaxaca solved nothing. The bourgeois, foolishly, perhaps believed that the working class was finished, and that the struggle was over. They will not be able to maintain that opinion any longer.
Carrying on from the magnificent struggles in March against the attacks of the weak Calderón government, a general strike was called earlier this week on May 2 - the first general strike in Mexico since 1916.
We publish here a brief report on the May 2 strike, as well as a longer article analysing the situation just before the strike. Further reports will be published in the coming days.

04-05-2007 14:33
There where no demonstrations on the streets of TelAviv to prevent the invasion and the aggressive war on Lebanon last summer. The high-lords of the many wars - Ehud Olmert, Amir Perez and the State terrorist Dan Halutz ( retired from his duties) went to war - with the quiet acceptance from the Israeli/Jews. Today Israeli/Jews are loudly demanding the resignation of "those responsible" for the failure of the aggression on Lebanon.Welcome To Hell

In the Bible, justice is always measured in the well-being of the weakest. Freedom could be understood as bond to community, not egomania. People are not commodities or a mass. There are no superfluous persons or superfluous continents. Ms. Kassmann is a Lutheran bishop in Hamburg, Germany.Full article | 1 addition | 3 comments
First they came for the animal rights activists
04-05-2007 11:49
On Tuesday thirty people were arrested for alleged involvement in "extremism" in dawn raids carried out across the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. Predictably the media are lapping it up , providing extensive quotations from the police, with minimal analysis. This time, however, it isn't Muslims they're after, but animal rights activists. This ought to be worrying and not just for people involved in animal rights activism.
