We are to believe that the world’s number one rogue state is searching for benign solutions to the world’s most “intractable problems”. This fiction is standard in corporate media coverage.

Self-managed park in Athens under attack by police

About 1-1.30 am: 3-4 police jeeps tried to invade Messolongiou street, in Exarchia. the people who were there resisted throwing things at them. Police forces from different directions tried to encircle the area. Tear-gas is reported to have been used near the self-organized Navarinu park. Somebody reports that about 2 persons are held by the police near the area.

Camden councillor Alexis Rowell has called for the site in Camden earmarked for a deadly germ lab / animal testing lab at Brill Palce to be used for Camden's first ever carbon zero development, to deliver maximum energy efficiency, fight climate change, provide housing, maximise green spaces, promote healthy living, save water and prevent the controversial animal torture lab from being built.

12 dying outside US embassy london?

a dozen supporters are nearing a fatal end of a hunger strike outside the london US embassy in grosvenor square. this piece (by belinda mckenzie) is a call-out to a solidarity demonstration on saturday evening at 6pm (5th september). three of the strikers were hospitalised last night on the 37th evening without food. they have vowed not to give up.

LANDSLIDE WIN Against Blue NG Biofuel Power Station

Campaigners from Food Not Fuel, Friends of the Earth Ealing and Biofuelwatch were amongst those celebrating a 10 to 0 win against the proposed biofuel power station in Southall. Blue NG presented bogus claims that burning vegetable oil somehow protects against climate change and makes negligible impact on Southall air quality. One councillor even referred to an unquestioning relationship between the Planning Officer and Blue NG!
